The above is a photo of a splendid piece of public sculpture; it is of course, a cuboctahedron. This page shows my own modest constructions of the cuboctahedron and Cuboctahedral Prism (Shadows of 4D!), done in wood.

Humongcubocuboctahedron.
I wanted to build a cube for my yard. The cube is an unstable structure, so I decided to use the strength of the triangle to reinforce the structure. Studying the result, you see the cuboctahedron, together with its surrounding cube. So I call it a cubo-cuboctahedron. In addition, it turned out considerably larger than I originally intended (it stands over 6 feet tall), so I call it my Humongcubocuboctahedron. It is built of pressure treated lumber with deck reinforcing plates for the corners. Click Here for a walk around the HumongCuboCuboctahedron
